This is a workshop where we create an outcome together. It is a social design challenge which gives you an opportunity to share your idea and take back your city in a creative setting. We will start from introducing some examples of hacking urban public spaces. Future Innovator After Work was held on May 8, 2015 at the Collaboratory. This event’s purpose was to get to know each other, the Future Innovators of Göteborg. Over 40 participants with varied backgrounds interested in being future innovators for example there were engineers, entrepreneurs, designers and makers of all types.
Coordinating this After Work was a group of HDK Business and Design students ( Samantha Hookway, Katarina Pepichova, Dimitris Tsagkos, and Vivi Shen) partnering with First to Know’s Scandinavia AB’s The ( ) Space and the Collaboratory. Plus we teamed up with the Göteborg chapter of Engineers without Borders!
The participants were encouraged to mark the space by their ideas in different artistic ways which included photo booth (see the GIF) and the prototyping session, to name a few. We successfully broke the ice with mingling activities…

All kids and parents who are interested in making activities in Collaboratory are welcome to a planning meeting on Sunday May 17th, 3-5pm. Representatives from Collaboratory and our partner Engineers without borders, will be there to talk about how we can support. We will also plan for a Kids Hack Day plus maker.ninja playshop soon.

Collaboratory and Playcentric Industries & Institute are proud network partners of Gothenburg Startup Hack, happening on a boat May 16.
Gather a team and sign up super fast, only a few days left! And there will be a big party afterwards!

In the middle of Gothenburg, at Bältespännarparken, we will set up a bunch of beautiful tents that will be filled with makers, workshops, seminars, game jams etc, and you are welcome to be part of it all!
Collaboratory will have a pop-up maker and gamer space at the Science Festival April 15-19, contact me, Jasmine, if you want to participate and be part of the team jasmine(at)maker.ninja
And, the Science Festival will host Gothenburg’s first Mini Maker Faire, apply with your project before 1/4 and let me know if you have any questions, will be superawesome!!!

To welcome our new members and partners, and anyone else curious about what we do, Collaboratory is inviting you to a knytkalas/potluck together with Engineers without Borders Sweden.
Knytkalas means that you bring something to share with others, preferably something to eat or drink, but anything that we can build stuff with would be fun too. Or both build and eat would be even better as we are also pre-launching our new concept The Kitchen.
Jasmine will be by the bar to answer any questions you might have about this awesome space ship Collaboratory and how you can be a part of this community of change makers.
