Collaboratory game hub in Stockholm had a temporary space on Söder but now the area is being rebuilt. Might get a new one but will mainly run events for now. We host events like game jams, art exhibitions, masterclasses, festivals, diversity workshops and IGDA Sweden Meet-ups, and support initiatives like Women in Games and Game Dev Force. Get in contact if you wish to collaborate.

Workshop
Participants are invited to shape equality strategies as well as content for a new game hub in Stockholm as we discuss local needs for the game community and industry.
The workshop will have 3 tracks and all participants move between them during 1 hour. We will focus on identifying and combating the biggest areas of inequality in our industry. We believe that inclusion and retention are two elements that are often overlooked when discussing diversity in the games industry, so our aim is to come up with concrete suggestions on changes in the way we work regarding the most pervasive areas of inequality experienced in our industry. What should we do more of, less of, or not at all in our existing companies and working environment?
We will also discuss and list content for a new Collaboratory game hub in Stockholm. How can the hub support the game dev community in general? and how do we work for increased diversity and inclusion in the industry and academia.

There will be a 1h pre-workshop for leadership/HR earlier during the day to anchor results and action plan. Contact jasmine.isdrake(at)gmail.com if you want to participate in this.

Presented Collaboratory at The Wallenberg Artificial Intelligence, Autonomous Systems and Software Program, a major national initiative for strategically motivated basic research, education and faculty recruitment in autonomous systems and software development. Looking forward to see the results of this program and also to reconnect with the nice folks attending!

A group of game devs have started a Swedish IGDA chapter and we will start running meet-ups soon. The International Game Developers Association (IGDA) is the largest non-profit membership organization in the world serving all individuals who create games. Stockholm is missing a game hub so we are now researching the possibilities to set up a Collaboratory in Stockholm, a resource for the local game industry and community. Previously Collaboratory had content like a writers room, yearly game jams, weekly playtesting, open business days inviting people from other industries and academia, start-up contests, hackathons and festivals. What do you want to participate in? All input welcome!
